Traffic Hot Spots in Redcliffe – Accidents Waiting to Happen
I’ve been living and working in Redcliffe for the past 38 years. Over that time, I’ve noticed the traffic congestion increase significantly, particularly around school opening and closing times, but recently the congestion has reached a new high point and it wasn’t around 9am and 3pm.
Travelling west towards Rothwell and outside Peninsula Fair Shopping Centre, I had to wait for 3 changes of lights to get through the Anzac Avenue, Elizabeth Avenue, Boardman Road intersection at 11.42am.
Either the traffic lights are badly out of sync, or the through traffic has got to a ridiculous point. And just imagine what will happen when the badly designed streets to the train station open soon. Located within 1 or 2 kilometres from the station are 3 schools – Kippa-Ring State, Hercules Road, Grace College and Sesame Lane day care. I’m almost glad that I’m not at Northstar Kippa-Ring any longer. As a busy dealership, they will experience the stuff of nightmares.
The upshot is that you should either be patient traversing this area or seek an alternative route.
