PHILIP KING – THE AUSTRALIAN
So, why would you just write an article like this Philip King?
I look forward to reading the auto articles in www.theaustralian.com.au each Thursday and Saturday. Jeremy Clarkson and John Connolly are my favourites – Clarkson with his motoring pedigree and British accent and Connolly? Well he’s just a fair dinkum Aussie albeit with short arms and deep pockets.
I look forward to opening Thursday’s Life section generally – arguably the first section of the paper that I read. This week, I just looked at the article (not the pictures) and couldn’t believe my eyes. Is this the ‘payback’ for all the week-long test drives that King gets during the year? In his Year of the SUV article, we’re looking at Audi Q7, Land Rover Discovery Sport, Porsche Cayenne Turbo S, Volvo XC 90, Mercedes GLC, and BMW X1 and X6.
Blah Blah Blah – what about the SUV’s that will typically be bought by 90% of the Australian population and probably about 75% of the readership of this august newspaper?
Fair dinkum Phil! Pandering to the 10% of the motoring industry will probably get you expensive vehicles to test drive in 2016, but really? No mention of a Nissan, a Toyota, a Mazda, or heaven forbid a Jeep or Fiat.
Even Jeremy would admit to sucking up to these guys.
